ELIGIBILITY:
No age limits.
THE COMPETITION IS DEVIDED INTO 6 CATEGORIES:
1st CATEGORY (competitors who have been playing an instrument for 2 years time or less) – max. 10 minutes.
a) any composition of competitor’s choice - a slow tempo
b) any composition of competitor’s choice - a fast tempo
c) a piece of the origin country of competitor's musical education.
2nd CATEGORY (competitors who have been playing an instrument for 4 years or less) – max. 15 minutes.
a) any composition of competitor’s choice - a slow tempo
b) any composition of competitor’s choice - a virtuoso piece (according to competitor’s skills and years of studding an instrument)
c) a piece of the origin country of competitor's musical education.
3rd CATEGORY (competitors who have been playing an instrument for 6 years or less) – max. 20 minutes.
a) any composition of competitor’s choice - a slow tempo
b) any etude (study) or capriccio
c) a virtuoso piece
d) a piece of the origin country of competitor's musical education
4th CATEGORY (competitors who have been playing an instrument for 8 years or less) – max. 35 minutes.
a) any piece of slow tempo
b) any etude (study) or capriccio
c) any virtuoso piece
d) any concerto movement of competitor’s choice
e) a piece of the origin country of competitor's musical education
5th CATEGORY (competitors who have been playing an instrument for 10 years or less) – max. 70 minutes in both the First and the Second Stage.
The First stage
a) a piece of a slow tempo
b) any etude (study) or capriccio
c) any concerto movement of competitor’s choice
The Second Stage
a) any virtuoso piece of competitor’s choice
b) any sonata from the standard repertoire
c) a piece of the origin country of competitor's musical education
6th CATEGORY (competitors are no age limited) – max. 90 minutes in both The First and The Second Stage.
The First stage
a) a piece of a slow tempo
b) any etude (study) or capriccio
c) any concerto movement of a romantic or post romantic period of time.
The Second Stage
a) any virtuoso composition of competitor’s choice
b) any sonata from the standard repertoire (from Beethoven and after).
THE FINAL STAGE
a) For all instruments (Violin, Viola and Cello)
One movement from String Trio written below:
1) W.A. Mozart: Divertimento for string trio, E flat Major KV 563 – Allegro (first movement)
2) L. van Beethoven: Serenade for string trio in D Major, op.8 – Andante quasi allegretto (Thema con variazioni)
3) F. Schubert: String trio in B-flat Major D 471 (in one movement)
b) any concerto from the standard repertoire (Haydn, Stamitz, Mozart...) accompanied by chamber orchestra.
Official piano accompanist will be available.
Each competitor is allowed one rehearsal free of charge with the official piano accompanist for the First and Second Stage of the Competition.
If they wish, competitors may request more rehearsals which will be charged.
Competitors may bring their own accompanist at their own expense.
Each finalist will have one rehearsal with the String Trio and one rehearsal with the Dubrovnik Chamber Orchestra.
All compositions must be performed by heart, with the exception of duo sonatas.
All performances are open to public.
The Jury and the Head Office reserve the right to reduce the length of performance.
It is compulsory for each competitor to perform a piece of the origin country of the competitor's musical education.
Decisions of the Jury are irrevocable.
Any incorrect information stated in the application will not be permitted.
The competitors have to report at least one day prior to the beginning of the category at the Competition Head Office,

and prove their identity by showing the passport.
All competitors will receive certificates of participation.
All prize-winners will receive honorary diplomas.
The performance sequence will start with a letter D.
PRIZES:
One 1 st prize will be given to each category
•1st Category – 100 EUR
•2nd Category – 200 EUR
•3rd Category – 300 EUR
•4th Category – 500 EUR
•5th Category – 1.000 EUR
•6th Category – 2.000 EUR
